Ocala Jockey Club Wedding | Ocala wedding planner | Kim and Brian Engaged

As we prepare for the Ocala Jockey Club wedding of Kim and Brian, we wanted to share their little love story with you! Please read on to hear all about how they met and fell in love.   Don’t forget to contact Nicole Squared Events to help you plan your big day at the Ocala Jockey Club!
Q. How did the two of you meet?
A. Over four years ago a group of friends got together at Alley Gatorz to go bowling Sunday Nights. Our friend Jack would always make nicknames for everyone, but you only found out your nickname if you got a spare or strike (this detail is important later in the story). Sometimes we would like 10 or more people all bowling together but one Sunday a lot of people were out of town and only a few showed up so Brian and Kim got to to know each other better. The following Sunday more people showed up at Brian’s nickname initials were STM…later to find out that stood for “Single to Mingle”…which got Kim’s attention.
  • Q. What did you do on your first date?
    A. We went bowling, just the two of us.
  • Q. What one thing does he/she do that drives you crazy?
    A. For Brian it is how Kim remembers everything, never forgets. For Kim is is how Brian forgets to tell her stuff.
  • Q. What is the best quality about your partner
    A. For Brian, it is Kim’s smile and how she is very giving. For Kim, it is Brian’s laugh and the how he shows that he loves her.
  • Q. Who wears the pants in your relationship?
    A. If we had to pick the one person who makes the decisions in the relationship…it would have to be Brian.
  • Q. Describe the moment that you knew he/she was The One!
    A. For Kim it would have been on our second date, we went and saw Shrek Forever After, after the movie we went to Kim’s place and we were going to part ways we were just hanging out in her driveway (later on finding out that my roommates were looking out the window, just waiting for us to kiss) we looked at each other and gave each other a big hug goodbye and Kim just about fell over. For Brian it would be our first kiss on our third date, we were at Brian’s place he changed the oil in my car, Kim told him that maybe she would repay him with a kiss and then we went to eat at Moe’s, when we got back to his place he was bummed that he was going away for the weekend and that he was going to miss her so much and leaned in, we kissed, and then went into a longer kiss after that.
  • Q. Tell us about the proposal!!
    A. On Christmas morning, we were at his parents place unwrapping presents. I had a big present under the tree from him. I opened it to find a bunch of packing peanuts with a note on top saying “Keep digging, you will like what you find” and then I found another wrapped present. I unwrapped it to find more packing peanuts and another wrapped present. I unwrapped that one to find a box from Zales, I opened it up to see my engagement ring, it was beautiful. I looked at him and he looked at me, we all knew what this meant, I can see him asking me with his eyes and me saying yes with my eyes and I asked him “Does this mean you want to ask me something?” Brian still grinning from ear to ear he said “yes” and I followed up with “What do you want to ask me?” in an excited and overwhelming tone. And he asked me “Will you marry me?” And I said “Yes.”
  • Q. How does your wedding reflect your personal style?
    A. We are both very classic and simple people, with a dash of rustic flavor. We are having a Catholic ceremony, we both come from Catholic families. Our next biggest thing was finding the right venue, which we did, the Ocala Jockey Club, a wooden interior covered in windows with amazing views at the highest point in Ocala.
  • Q. Tell us 2 or 3 words that sum up your wedding.
    A. Simple and Rustic
  • Q. What are your plans for your honeymoon?
    A. We are going to the mountains, something you don’t see here in Florida. Planning to get a cabin for the week in Gaitlinburg, TN. We think it will be perfect in the fall.
Special thanks to Brian Pepper and Associates for the engagement photos!  We look forward to working with a new team of vendors on this one including; Five Star Entertainment, Hills BBQ, Party Time Rentals, Led’s Bouquet, and Blessed Trinity Catholic Church of Ocala.
