As the day grows closer for Beckie and Rolando to celebrate their Winter Park Farmers Market wedding we wanted to share with you a little blurb on how they new they were meant for each other!
-
Q. How did the two of you meet?A. After I moved to Orlando from the northeast and Rolando moved to Orlando from Texas, we both joined a meetup running group. This running group was twice a week and it was help around Lake Eola. Rolando and I met at this meetup and we saw each other for at this meetup for 2 months. Then one day he asked if he could walk me to my car and we talked for 5 hours outside. And that is how the magic began!

Q. What did you do on your first date?A. On our first “official” date, Rolando surprised me with going to St. Augustine. First we went to the San Sebastian winery (which he got a flat tire in the parking lot right when we got there so he had to change the tire in the heat so he went into this winery all wet and sweaty) and taste tested wine. We then went to the “Conch” and ate by the water and then danced to some reggae music they had playing down by the barge. We then walked around St. Augustine where then at the end of the night he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Q. What one thing does he/she do that drives you crazy?A. Rolando is ALWAYS late for everything. I could give him an hour head start and he still would be late. This is because he takes his time with every little thing he does from tying his shoes to brushing his teeth. The thing that drives Rolando crazy about me is i’m a super planner…and struggle if straying from the plan occurs. Also, I tend to rush him alot…but its because he is so slow! haha
-
Q. What is the best quality about your partner?A. Rolando is very supportive with whatever I would like to do. And with that if I need to talk about something that is bothering me he always focuses on making my concerns a priority. No matter how busy he is he also finds time to spend with me..I honestly feel like he is head over heels in love for me. For Rolando, he feels I raise his up and allow him to do whatever it takes to live out his dreams…no matter what the sacrifice, all I want is for him to be happy.
-
Q. Who wears the pants in your relationship?A. I would say I do but only because Rolando does anything to make me happy.
-
Q. Describe the moment that you knew he/she was The One!A. We had been dating about 4 months when him and I drove 16 hours up to my parents house in Pennsylvania for Christmas. First the fact he did that and was willing was amazing to me. So when we get there he treated my parents like they were his. I am an only child so it means alot to me my parents are happy. I knew after non-stop talking there and back, a great time, and a wonderful christmas he was the one.

Q. Tell us about the proposal!!A. It was the day after Valentine’s Day and we had planned a day to enjoy each others company. Little did I know Rolando had a surprise that would change everything. To begin the day, we watched the long awaited film Fifty Shades of Grey. The next destination was a surprise Rolando had been planning for months and it was the the most magical surprise I had ever received. Rolando took me to Epcot and made it seem as if there had been no reservations made for the busy restaurant we had planned to attend. Disappointed and hungry I thought the night was over… but little did I know Rolando had strategically planned the walk back to the car to pass by the BLUE ZOO restaurant in the Swan and Dolphin Resort. To my surprise, Rolando had made reservations after all and the restaurant was BEAUTIFUL. Looking like it was something out of a movie, I was breathless and excited for the meal… still having no idea of what was to come. As the meal came to a wonderful end, they were asked if they would like dessert, and Rolando made sure Beckie said “yes”.
Minutes later there was a bright flash in my eye that grabbed my attention, which I later learned was a camera recording the moment. Out came an elaborate dessert dish with an ice-cream treat modeled from what was a picture perfect dessert. The plate was placed in front of me and my world stopped. On the plate was the writing “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” with the perfect ring resting upon a small jelly morsel. -
Q. How does your wedding reflect your personal style?A. I am a country girl and love the rustic feel of the country. Rolando is a family guy who loves a great party…so we are having a fun rustic party wedding!
